Natasha Patel
Orthoptist
Natasha qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2014 with a BSc Hons in Orthoptics. Since then, she gained vast orthoptic experience working at several large teaching hospitals including Moorfields Eye Hospital where she worked for 5 years. She also developed an extended role in performing intravitreal injections to patients with macular eye conditions when working at Hillingdon Hospital.
Natasha currently works at the Royal Free Hospital where she is the lead orthoptist at the Barnet and Edgware Hospitals. As a lead clinical tutor, she is heavily involved in the education of undergraduate and postgraduate orthoptic students during their clinical placements. Natasha also has a strong background with stroke and maxillofacial patients.
Natasha is highly skilled at children’s vision assessments and has extensive experience in assessing simple and complex ocular motility patients of all ages. Her main focus is patient care and to ensure that patients receive the best possible care for their condition. She specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular motility disorders and double vision, and the development of children’s vision including amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (squint).
